ING is proud to be the general partner of TERIBEAR!

ING Bank in the Czech Republic is proud to be the general partner of the 9th annual sports and charity happening TERIBEAR. The event, which aims to support abandoned and disadvantaged children through sports, takes place from 14 to 23 September 2023. This year’s edition of the project is virtual and thanks to state-of-the-art technology it is possible to participate from anywhere.

The rules of the event are the same as in previous years. At any time of the day or night you can help others by walking or running. For every kilometre walked the project partners donate CZK 20 to a selected aid story.

“Our long-term cooperation with the Tereza Maxová Foundation for Children is a testament to our commitment to supporting communities and families in need. We believe that thanks to TERIBEAR we can make a positive difference in the lives of many children together. We are proud to be part of this inspiring initiative,” comments Erik Fortgens, CEO of ING Bank in the Czech Republic and Chairman of the ING Bank fund of the Tereza Maxová Foundation for Children, on the general partnership.

The cooperation between ING Bank and the Tereza Maxová Foundation for Children has a tradition of more than twenty years in the Czech Republic, and supporting children from children’s homes and foster families has a firm place in the bank’s corporate social responsibility efforts. Through the the ING Bank fund of the Tereza Maxová Foundation for Children, a number of projects focused on education, all-round development and leisure or sports activities for children receive much-needed financial assistance and support.

ING Bank has been operating on the Czech market for over 30 years and has been actively involved in a number of community initiatives throughout this time. “Supporting the TERIBEAR event, which enables people to help by moving and turning kilometres into assistance for those in need, is therefore a natural part of the long-term cooperation between ING and the Tereza Maxová Foundation for Children,” adds Erik Fortgens.

How to get involved?

To participate in the event you need to register at www.teribear.cz and create an account with the viRACE sports app, which allows you to directly collect kilometres for the TERIBEAR project. The app syncs data from popular running apps like Strava, Garmin Connect, Fitbit and Polar. The results are then automatically recorded in an online scorecard on the project website.

Invite your colleagues, family and friends to get involved and support this great cause. As like every year ING employees will contribute to the total amount raised by putting in the kilometres together with their loved ones.
