Dutch deposit guarantee scheme
ING Bank N.V. has a banking license from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). In accordance with the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (de Wet op het Financieel Toezicht), the credit balances on bank accounts are covered under the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS). The DGS reimburses credit balances up to a maximum of EUR 100.000 per account holder per bank if we cannot meet our financial obligations.
Merger with Bank Mendes Gans
On October 1, 2024, Bank Mendes Gans N.V. (BMG) intends to legally merge into its parent company ING Bank N.V. BMG clients have been informed by letter. This is not an operational merger and BMG will continue to be a separate business line within ING.
All rights and obligations arising from agreements with BMG remain unaffected – as do the products and services BMG offers to its clients. Bank account numbers will remain the same and BMG will keep its trade name and SWIFT code.
Deposits in your accounts are covered by the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS) up to a maximum of EUR 100.000. If you have accounts both at BMG and ING, after October 1, 2024, the total sum of both deposits held at BMG and ING is protected up to EUR 100.000.
We wish to make clear that until September 14, 2024, you have the right to withdraw or transfer deposits to another credit institution without incurring any penalty, including all accrued interest and benefits in so far as your deposits exceed EUR 100.000. Please refer to the Dutch central bank’s website for further information on the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
