Frankfurt am Main, July 31, 2024 - ING Germany has appointed Mariana Ziemer (40) as the new Head of Sectors Germany. The experienced banker comes from Commerzbank, where she is currently Divisional COO for the “Mittelstandsbank” in the North/West region. She will start on 1 November and report to Eddy Henning, Member of the Management Board of ING Germany and Head of Wholesale Banking.
Ziemer succeeds Gerlach Jacobs (62) at ING Germany, who will concentrate on his role as Global Head of Transport & Logistics. As Head of Sectors Germany, Mariana Ziemer will be responsible for ING Germany's corporate clients, which are divided into seven sectors: Energy, Transport & Logistics, Real Estate, Commodities, Food & Agriculture, TMT & Healthcare, Financial Institutions and Corporate Sector Coverage. In addition, Ziemer will drive forward the development of the regional offices in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart and will be responsible for the area of sustainable financing.

Mariana Ziemer has over 15 years of professional experience in corporate banking, during which time she has held several positions at Commerzbank in Germany and abroad, almost half of them as a manager.
